Market days sure do look different these past six months, but that hasn’t taken away the joy of meal prep and planning! After making big changes to our budget earlier this year (read how I cut our grocery budget in half here), our family meals not only got healthier, more practical, and in budget, but meal time has been way more enjoyable and fun. By cooking larger dinners, like this sheet pan salmon then thoughtfully re-inventing leftovers, (these salmon cakes being a family favorite and this salad being so healthy and yummy) I’m able to make the most of our time and money. Two things that in any family are major commodities!
Typically Saturday mornings are my market day…but with these times, and to safely avoid crowds the occasional weekday evening works. As it’s my only time alone these days, it’s nice to put on a pretty dress (I just bought this pretty cotton one, shown above) and I never leave home without my favorite market basket and mask. And after trying a lot of different masks, I’m so glad I stumbled across Briar Baby’s website in the Spring. Their masks are made of all cotton, cute liberty prints and the thing I find most comfortable are tied masks (rather than those that go over your ears). These masks also have a place to add a filter, their website gives good ideas for those as well. Everyone in my family loves these. The kids sizes are right sized and my kids love them for their comfort and fit.
Wishing you all good health and joy in the ordinary during these tough times! So glad you’re here friends!
